Snapchat has announced a new unified monetization program for creators, combining the rewards for content posted to Stories and Spotlight. This change will allow creators to earn revenue from ads displayed within eligible Stories and Spotlight posts.

Opportunity for creators to monetize Spotlight videos will increase, with eligible creators being able to monetize videos longer than one minute starting February 1, 2025. However, new eligibility requirements are higher than before, with creators needing at least 50,000 followers and meeting specific posting and engagement criteria.

The changes in Snapchat’s monetization program come as other platforms like TikTok and YouTube have also made adjustments to better support and reward their creators.
