Amanda Scales, the former xAI HR executive who played a key role in Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative, has recently rejoined xAI, as reported by The New York Times.

Scales, known for her work in talent acquisition at xAI, has returned to focus on talent within the company since April, according to her LinkedIn profile. Prior to this, she held positions in human resources and talent at VC firm Human Capital in San Francisco and at Uber.

Scales’ return to xAI coincides with Musk’s decision to step back from DOGE. The tech billionaire has been decreasing his involvement in Washington, with plans to shift his focus back to his companies like Tesla.

With Musk’s reduced attention on Tesla due to his involvement with DOGE, the company has seen a decline in sales. This led to a group of employees publishing an open letter last month calling for his removal as CEO.
