Amazon is the Latest Company to Scale Back DEI Programs

Amazon is now the latest company to curb some of its DEI programs, following Meta’s announcement of ending its diversity efforts earlier on Friday, according to Bloomberg. An internal memo sent to staffers mentioned the company’s intention to wind down outdated programs and materials as part of a review of its current initiatives. Candi Castleberry, a senior human resources executive, wrote in the memo that Amazon is focusing on programs with proven outcomes and aiming to foster a more truly inclusive culture.

Tech Companies Reversing Prior Commitments

Amazon, along with Meta and Microsoft, has started to reverse prior commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
