Apple has announced new features and gestures for its AirPods at the WWDC 2025 event. Despite leaks suggesting additional gestures and enhancements, the focus is on two key features: studio-quality audio recording and camera remote functionality.
Studio-Quality Audio Recording
Users will now be able to capture content with improved sound quality, even in noisy environments or while on the move. The integration of an H2 chip, beamforming microphones, and computational audio technology ensures a more natural and enhanced audio experience during iPhone calls, FaceTime calls, and other voice applications.
Camera Remote Functionality
A new feature allows AirPods users to activate the camera by pressing and holding the stem of the device. This gesture can trigger the camera or a third-party camera app, offering the option to capture photos or videos. This feature is especially beneficial for users engaged in platforms like TikTok.
The new features will be available on AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and AirPods Pro 2 devices. Watch the video below for more information on the exciting updates from Apple.
