Apple Forms New Team for ChatGPT-like App

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has created a new team to develop an app similar to ChatGPT.

This team, known as Answers, Knowledge, and Information, is focused on building an “answer engine” that can provide responses to queries using data from various sources on the internet. The app could potentially stand alone or enhance search functionalities in Siri, Safari, and other Apple products.

Job Openings for Search Algorithm Experts

Gurman mentions that Apple is actively recruiting for positions within this team, specifically seeking individuals with expertise in search algorithms and engine development.

Although Apple has already incorporated ChatGPT into Siri, the rollout of a more personalized, AI-driven update for the voice assistant has faced multiple delays. Additionally, Apple may need to make adjustments to its search agreement with Google following the latter’s recent antitrust ruling.
