Apple is getting ready to introduce a new smart home hub, as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. By March 2025, the tech giant could unveil a tablet that can be mounted on your wall, controlling smart home appliances, making video calls, and featuring Apple Intelligence.
The device is said to have a 6-inch touchscreen, but it is expected that voice commands will be the primary way to control it, using Siri, Apple Intelligence, or a new system called “App Intents” that allows AI to manage applications. It is rumored to run on a new OS, equipped with sensors to detect proximity, while still offering traditional Apple apps like Safari, Apple Music, Notes, and Calendar.
Apple’s “command center for the home” appears to be aimed at competing with Amazon’s Echo Hub and Google’s Nest Hub, so anticipate a similar price range (around $100 to $250). However, Apple is also developing an iPad on a robotic arm that can follow you around the room, which could be priced closer to $1,000.
