Character.AI, the AI chatbot provider backed by Google with millions of monthly active users, announced that Karandeep Anand, former VP of Business Products at Meta, is joining as CEO.

Anand brings experience from Meta and Microsoft, as well as leading the fintech startup Brex. He takes over as CEO following Google hiring away the startup’s co-founder and CEO, Noam Shazeer.
