Fitbit’s Ace LTE, designed for children aged 7 and older, introduces new features to promote family bonding and physical activity.
**Family Group Chats and Features**
On Wednesday, Fitbit unveiled several new features for the Ace LTE smartwatch, including group chats, family quests, a mini-game, and two new watch faces. A direct message feature allows siblings to text and call each other through their devices.
**Enhanced Security and Communication**
Launched in May, the Ace LTE provides parents with peace of mind by enabling text and call functionalities, location tracking, and activity monitoring. Parents can manage contacts and approve up to 20 trusted adults for communication, ensuring a controlled network.
**Group Chat and Family Quests**
A new group chat function within the Ace LTE device and app allows for communication within the Google Family network. Family Quests, like the Thanksgiving-themed Turkey Berserky challenge, track steps using the Ace LTE and Ace app to promote family fitness activities.
**Fitbit Arcade and Watch Faces**
The smartwatch includes Fitbit Arcade for gaming during physical activities, with the latest game Solar Sword. Two new watch faces help kids reach movement goals.
The Ace LTE is priced at $230, comparable to other Google products. Users can access features through the Ace Pass plan, priced at $10 per month or $119 per year. Siblings subscribing before January 31 receive a 50% discount.
