Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite, has officially launched its rival iOS app store in the European Union. The Epic Games Store is now also available on Android worldwide. The app store includes popular games like Fortnite, Rocket League Sideswipe, and Fall Guys, with plans to add more games in the future. Epic Games is also partnering with independent mobile store AltStore PAL to offer their games for free. Additionally, they aim to bring their games to Aptoide’s iOS store in the EU and ONE Store on Android.
After a legal battle with Apple and regulatory changes due to the EU’s Digital Markets Act, Fortnite is finally returning to iOS. Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney expressed gratitude for the opportunity to offer their games on iOS in the EU. With the mobile ecosystem opening up to competition, users can now access the Epic Games Store on both iOS and Android. The company has provided instructional videos to help users install the store on their devices. This launch signifies a challenge to Apple’s App Store dominance for the first time.
