On Thursday, Google unveiled a new app for its AI-powered assistant, Gemini, on iOS worldwide. Previously, iOS users had to use the Google app or mobile web to interact with the AI technology.

Gemini’s new iOS app supports text prompts in 35 languages and offers conversations through its Gemini Live feature in 12 languages. This includes English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Portuguese, Arabic, Italian, Indonesian, Japanese, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Google plans to add more languages soon.

The Gemini iOS app introduces Gemini Live, a feature not previously available through the Google app or mobile web. Users can also generate images using Google’s Imagen 3 model and utilize extensions to access information from their other Google accounts like Gmail, Maps, YouTube, and Calendar.

Google initially launched the Gemini Android app in the U.S. and later expanded to other countries. The company has been adding support for additional languages, including Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese. Apple is also integrating ChatGPT with Siri in the iOS 18.2 public beta, with plans to integrate Google Gemini into Apple Intelligence in the future.
