OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever has announced that he will be stepping into the CEO role at Safe Superintelligence, the AI startup he founded in 2024. Following the exit of co-founder and CEO Daniel Gross on June 29, Sutskever confirmed the changes in a post on X. Daniel Levy, another co-founder of Safe Superintelligence, will be taking on the role of president.

The news comes after reports of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s interest in hiring Gross and potentially acquiring Safe Superintelligence.
