Klarna CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski spilled the beans on Bloomberg TV, revealing that thanks to AI, his company hasn’t hired for a year, leading to a significant reduction in their workforce. Sounds futuristic, right?

## AI vs. Human Workers

Despite the AI buzz, Klarna is not fully replacing departing human workers with AI. Job listings are open, signaling a need for more human hands. Siemiatkowski believes AI can do all human jobs, but the reality seems a bit different.

## Job Listings and Reality

While Klarna has cut down its workforce, they’re still hiring for over 50 roles worldwide. Managers are actively expanding their teams, with new hires in various departments like policy, software engineering, and global partnerships. Looks like humans are still in demand!

Klarna’s global press lead, John Craske, clarified that while Siemiatkowski’s hiring pause statement is kinda true, they’re only filling essential roles, mainly in engineering.

So, not every job can be AI-replaced yet. Klarna’s headcount remains the same as in 2021. Also, with an upcoming IPO, Siemiatkowski might be showcasing Klarna’s AI integration to impress investors.

In conclusion, AI is cool and all, but for most companies, the AI takeover is happening at a slower pace. So, for now, humans and AI are still finding their balance in the workforce.
