Linktree, a link-in-bio platform, recently announced its acquisition of the social media scheduling tool Plann. While Plann will continue to operate independently for now, Linktree plans to integrate its social scheduling features into its platform in the near future. This integration will allow users to schedule posts for platforms like TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. It is uncertain if Linktree will incorporate all of Plann’s features, such as its AI-powered caption generator.
The cost of the new scheduling tool for users has not been disclosed by Linktree. Plann users will transition to Linktree once the integration is complete. The entire Plann team, including founder Christy Laurence, will join Linktree.
Social scheduling has been one of the most requested features by Linktree users, as it helps creators streamline their content distribution process and save time. Linktree’s co-founder and CEO, Alex Zaccaria, mentioned that this addition will simplify content distribution for creators, allowing them to focus on creating.
This acquisition marks Linktree’s fourth, following previous investments in link-in-bio competitors Koji and Bento, as well as Odesli, an automated music link aggregation platform.
In addition to the acquisition, Linktree launched a beta social commerce offering earlier this year, enabling creators to add storefronts to their link-in-bio pages and earn a commission on sales. Currently, Linktree boasts over 50 million users.
