Meta’s competitor Threads has unveiled several new features, such as the ability to save multiple drafts, rearrange columns on desktop, and provide insights into the user’s audience. CEO Mark Zuckerberg also announced plans to introduce a post-scheduling feature soon.
Threads recently celebrated the first anniversary of launching its web version in August 2023. The platform initially tested drafts in February and made it available to all users in March, with a limit of 100 drafts per account.
Additionally, Meta has introduced a new user Insights screen, displaying demographic information of viewers and engagers, as well as total views and interactions categorized by followers and non-followers. Users can now rearrange columns on the desktop, similar to TweetDeck, but cannot move the “For You” column from its default position.
These features were initially available to select users before being rolled out to the broader audience. Threads has been experimenting with a multi-feed experience on iOS, although it remains unclear if users will have the ability to reorder feeds.
In other news, Threads recently reached 200 million monthly active users, a milestone achieved almost 13 months post-launch. In comparison, rival X (formerly Twitter) boasted over 600 million monthly users in May, as confirmed by Elon Musk. Bluesky, another decentralized social network, reached 5 million users in February.
