French AI lab Mistral recently unveiled a series of new features for its Le Chat chatbot, bringing it closer to the capabilities of other industry giants like OpenAI and Google. The latest update introduces a “deep research” mode, native multilingual reasoning, and advanced image editing.

Enhanced Capabilities:
Mistral’s new deep research mode transforms Le Chat into a comprehensive research assistant, capable of planning, clarifying needs, conducting searches, and synthesizing data. This feature allows the chatbot to scour a variety of sources on the web to provide detailed answers to specific questions.

Enterprise Integration:
The updates are available across all tiers – Free, Pro, Team, and Enterprise. Mistral is focusing on integrating Le Chat and its productivity suite into enterprise ecosystems, particularly for industries handling sensitive data like banking, defense, and government. The chatbot can connect to enterprise data on-premises, allowing companies to analyze internal data without uploading to the cloud.

Multilingual Support and Project Organization:
In addition to deep reasoning, Mistral has introduced native multilingual reasoning, allowing Le Chat to switch between languages seamlessly. The update also includes Projects, a feature that helps users stay organized by grouping chats, documents, and ideas into focused spaces. Each project can have its own default library and remember user settings.

Advanced Image Editing:
Le Chat now offers improved image-editing capabilities, enabling users to create and edit images with specific prompts such as “remove the object” or “place me in another city.” These updates position Mistral as a strong contender in the AI industry, showcasing Le Chat as a comprehensive tool beyond just a model demo.
