OpenAI Expands Global Presence with New Offices in Major Cities
OpenAI recently announced its plans to open new offices in several cities around the world, including NYC, Seattle, Paris, Brussels, and Singapore. This expansion is part of the company’s efforts to globalize its operations and reach a wider audience. The decision comes on the heels of a significant $6.6 billion funding round, a restructuring plan, and a series of executive departures.
International Operations Led by Managing Director Oliver Jay
In light of this expansion, OpenAI has appointed Oliver Jay as the managing director to oversee international operations and drive global growth from Singapore. The company is already building a team in Singapore to support customers and partners in the Asia Pacific region. With the goal of opening the Singapore office by the end of the year, OpenAI aims to strengthen its presence in Asia, following the successful launch of its Tokyo office earlier this year.
Partnership with AI Singapore to Expand AI Technology Access
In addition to opening new offices, OpenAI is collaborating with AI Singapore to enhance access to its AI technology in Southeast Asia. AI Singapore, established in 2017 by the National Research Foundation (NRF), is a government initiative that aims to empower local companies and research institutions in leveraging AI. This partnership underscores OpenAI’s commitment to working with Singapore’s vibrant AI ecosystem and contributing to the region’s technological advancement.
These strategic moves signal OpenAI’s commitment to expanding its global footprint and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders in the AI community. With an eye on future growth and innovation, the company is poised to make a significant impact in the APAC region and beyond.
