Eric Migicovsky, the original creator of the Pebble smartwatch, unveiled the new designs for the upcoming Pebble Time 2. The company has regained the Pebble trademark, renaming the watches as the Pebble 2 Duo and the Pebble Time 2.
Design and Features
The Pebble Time 2 will debut in four colors and include new features such as a multicolor RGB LED backlight, a second microphone for noise cancellation, a compass sensor, and a screw-mounted back cover. The watch will feature stainless steel on the front and back, along with stainless steel buttons like the older Pebble Time Steel.
Specifications
The Pebble Time 2 will maintain its 1.5-inch 64 color e-paper display, touch screen, 30-day battery life, heart rate monitor, step and sleep tracking, speaker, vibration motor, and waterproof rating. It is available for preorder at $225 and will connect to smartphones via Bluetooth for notifications, music control, and internet connectivity.
Preorder Details
Customers who preorder the Core 2 Duo can upgrade to the Pebble Time 2 without canceling their original order. An email survey link will be sent in the coming month to provide the option to switch orders while securing a place in line.
