Data-labeling startup Scale AI has acquired the team behind Pesto AI, a company that assists in remote developer recruitment. Founded in 2017 by Ayush Jaiswal and Rahul Jaimini, co-founder of Indian food delivery platform Swiggy, Pesto AI has received funding from notable figures such as Ryan Hoover from Product Hunt and Sahil Lavingia from Gumroad, totaling over $8 million according to Crunchbase.

Pesto AI will be ceasing its operations, with 71 employees listed on its LinkedIn page. The exact number of employees transitioning to Scale AI remains unclear.

Ayush Jaiswal, now the head of growth at Scale AI, expressed his enthusiasm for the move in a blog post, highlighting his commitment to leveraging AI to create meaningful opportunities globally. Reports on Pesto AI indicate the company was also involved in developer education during its early stages.
