A SpaceX Falcon 9 recently launched the Polaris Dawn mission from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, marking a significant milestone in space exploration. This mission will take astronauts higher than any crewed mission in the past 50 years, reaching an altitude of 1,400 kilometers – three times higher than the International Space Station.

### High-altitude Research
The crew will conduct research on the effects of radiation on the human body while passing through the high-energy Van Allen belt. This data will be crucial for future deep-space missions, such as those to Mars.

### Groundbreaking Spacewalk
On day three of the mission, the crew will attempt the first commercial spacewalk not involving government astronauts. This spacewalk will test SpaceX’s new extravehicular activity suits and modifications to the Dragon spacecraft for future missions.

### Exciting Future Missions
This mission is just the beginning of Isaacman’s Polaris program, with plans for further groundbreaking missions, including the first crewed launch of SpaceX’s Starship. The crew will return to Earth after five days in orbit.

This partnership between Isaacman and SpaceX opens the door to new possibilities in space exploration, paving the way for future missions to the moon, Mars, and beyond.
