Telegram Expanding Access to Crypto Wallet

Telegram is now offering its crypto wallet to its 87 million users in the U.S. The TON wallet, named after the TON blockchain, is seamlessly integrated into the Telegram app. This integration aims to provide a smoother entry point for new crypto enthusiasts.

Regulatory Uncertainty in the U.S.

Although Telegram has been offering crypto wallets to international users since 2023, regulatory uncertainties prevented its launch in the U.S. until now. Despite this delay, more than 100 million users worldwide activated their wallets last year, representing approximately 10% of Telegram’s 1 billion active users. The TON blockchain processes about 334,000 transactions daily, according to public data.
