Tesla is all in on the idea of Robotaxis, so much so that they’ve filed trademark applications for the term “Tesla Robotaxi.” The original plan to trademark “Robotaxi” and “Cybercab” hit a snag when the USPTO requested more details. But fear not, Tesla is back with a more specific phrase and is gearing up to begin testing in Austin, Texas.

Testing, Testing, 1-2-3

The new trademark applications for “Tesla Robotaxi” are aimed at covering Tesla’s autonomous ride-hailing service, the mobile app, and the vehicles themselves. However, don’t hold your breath for a quick approval – trademark applications usually take months to be reviewed. Nevertheless, Tesla isn’t stopping there. They also have applications pending for trademarks like “Robobus,” “Robus,” and “Cyberbus.” Looks like Elon Musk and the gang are really going all out on their vision for the future of transportation.
