Elon Musk-owned social network X has implemented changes to its API pricing and limits, along with the launch of annual subscription plans at a discounted rate.

Changes to API Pricing and Limits

The company has raised the prices of the basic API tier from $100 to $200 per month, offering higher limits and new endpoints for this subscription plan. In a post on X’s developer community portal, it was announced that the number of reads through this API will be increased from 10,000 to 15,000, and developers will have access to new endpoints such as reposts_of_me and communities search.

Introduction of Annual Plans

X has introduced new annual plans for both Basic and Pro API tiers, providing developers with a cost-effective alternative to monthly fees. The Basic annual plan costs $2,100, while the Pro annual plan costs $54,000.

Additional Changes

Earlier this year, the company introduced top-ups to allow developers to increase their limit on read and post requests, with a maximum of 10 top-ups for the basic tier and five top-ups for the pro tier. X has now limited developers to only two top-ups per month for both tiers.

Overall, these changes aim to optimize the usage of X’s API services and provide developers with more flexibility in their subscription plans.
