Anysphere, the creator of the AI-powered coding tool Cursor, has recently secured $900 million in a new funding round led by Thrive Capital, as reported by The Financial Times citing sources familiar with the deal. Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Accel are also taking part in this round, which values Anysphere at approximately $9 billion.

Investors are showing great interest in Anysphere, with reports indicating that backers like Index Ventures and Benchmark are eager to support the company. Anysphere’s existing investors are also seizing the opportunity to further back the startup.

In a separate development, TechCrunch revealed in December that Cursor had raised $100 million from Thrive and a16z, with a valuation of $2.6 billion. This brings the total funding raised by Cursor to over $173 million to date, according to Crunchbase data.
