Bluesky Introduces Blue Check Verification

Bluesky has officially launched its blue check verification, following rumors of this new feature. This verification system, similar to Twitter’s original blue check, will help users trust the authenticity of notable accounts.

Trusted Verifiers

Bluesky will work with select “Trusted Verifiers,” independent organizations that can verify accounts as members of their team. This will make it easier for users to identify trustworthy sources of information.

Enhanced Verification

Bluesky’s moderation team will verify each new verification to ensure authenticity. Public figures can benefit from this additional layer of verification to combat disinformation from impersonators.

Domain Handles

While domain handles continue to be important for verification on Bluesky, users have expressed the need for a larger visual signal to identify authentic accounts. Currently, Bluesky is not accepting verification applications, but plans to launch a request form in the future.
