WhatsApp is now allowing small businesses in India to sign up for a Meta Verified badge, giving them the ability to send customized messages to customers. This move is part of Meta’s efforts to tap into the market opportunities in India, where WhatsApp is widely used for messaging. Businesses can access features such as custom WhatsApp pages, multi-device support, and multiple employee accounts for a starting price of around $8 a month. Additionally, businesses can now schedule and send personalized messages to customers for less than a rupee per message, including customer names and customizable call-to-action buttons. Meta is also launching a “WhatsApp Business Yatra” to provide in-person training to small businesses in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
