Telegram has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, to bring the innovative chatbot, Grok, to its platform. This collaboration involves integrating Grok into various apps on Telegram for a year, offering users a unique and advanced chatbot experience.
In a bold move, xAI will be paying a hefty sum of $300 million in cash and equity to Telegram as part of this deal, as confirmed by Telegram’s CEO, Pavel Durov. Additionally, Telegram stands to benefit from 50% of the revenue generated from xAI subscriptions purchased through the app, marking a significant financial gain for the chat app.
Previously exclusive to Telegram’s premium users, Grok’s availability may soon expand to all users, based on recent developments. A video shared by Durov showcased Grok’s capabilities, such as being pinned on top of chats, answering user queries from the search bar, providing writing suggestions, summarizing chats, handling links and documents, creating stickers, and supporting businesses with questions and moderation.
This collaboration highlights the increasing integration of AI technology into popular messaging platforms, with Meta also incorporating Meta AI into Instagram and WhatsApp search bars. The potential of Grok to enhance user experience and support businesses underscores the significant impact of this partnership between Telegram and xAI.
