Spotify has reported a positive impact on sales after updating its iOS app to support web payments. Following a court ruling in favor of Epic Games, Apple now allows U.S. app developers to direct customers to alternative payment methods within their apps without paying Apple’s commission.

Spotify was quick to update its app to take advantage of this new policy, guiding customers on subscription costs and directing them to its website for purchases. The results have been encouraging, with a significant increase in iOS users upgrading to Premium subscriptions.

In the two weeks since the update, Spotify has seen a steady conversion rate on Android, where basic pricing info was already available. However, the conversion rate among iOS users has notably increased, indicating the impact of Apple complying with the court order.
