The newly announced FixHub is a 100 watt “smart” soldering iron that warms up in five seconds and boasts eight hours of battery life on a single charge. Equipped with on-device USB-C ports for charging other devices, iFixit emphasizes the importance of a soldering iron in electronics workbenches.

Recognizing the increasing demand for repairability, Apple has softened its stance with at-home device repair kits. This shift is influenced by the rise in right to repair laws worldwide, prompting Apple to consider opening up repair to third-party components.
