In 2016, Alan made history by becoming the first new health insurance company in France in 30 years. Now, as Alan expands to Canada, it is set to break another record by being the first new health insurance company in the country since 1957.

Alan approaches health insurance as a subscription-based product that leverages technology. With its own claim management system and additional services like virtual doctor consultations and ordering prescription glasses through a mobile app, Alan focuses on enhancing user experience.

Expanding beyond its home country of France, Belgium, and Spain, Alan is now venturing into the Canadian market. With plans to hire 50 people in Canada and offering its full product suite, Alan aims to establish itself as a global player in the health insurance industry.

Despite having a strong presence in Europe, Alan chose Canada for its next expansion due to its long-term vision of becoming a global company. With a mix of public and private healthcare coverage in Canada, Alan sees an opportunity to provide innovative and customer-centric health insurance solutions in a market with limited competition.

Through partnerships with employers, Alan plans to onboard a new customer each week in Canada starting in January 2025. By focusing on customer satisfaction and leveraging its technology-driven approach, Alan aims to disrupt and improve the health insurance landscape in Canada.
