The Moonvalley team, a Los Angeles-based AI video-generation startup, believes in a “3D-aware” model that offers filmmakers more control over text-to-video models. Moonvalley’s model, Marey, is now available as a monthly subscription service, allowing users to generate clips up to five seconds long using credits that can be purchased at different price points.

Marey’s “hybrid filmmaking” approach allows for pre- and post-production use, such as testing scenes before shooting or adjusting camera angles after filming. Moonvalley CEO Naeem Talukdar demonstrated how Marey can control objects, characters, motion, and scene composition, with potential for more interactive storytelling as the technology advances.

Marey stands out with its ability to mimic motion while respecting the laws of physics, allowing for unique video transformations like a bison sprinting through grasslands turning into a racing Cadillac. The model also supports free camera motion, enabling users to adjust camera trajectory in real-time and change video backgrounds to create desired scenes. Moonvalley plans to introduce new controls like lighting, deep object trajectories, and character libraries in the coming months.
