TikTok unveils new features for enhanced parental controls, creator tools, and interactive well-being feature
TikTok recently announced the release of several new features, including upgraded parental controls, additional tools for creators, and a new interactive well-being feature. The platform has also introduced Footnotes, its fact-checking system.
Enhanced parental controls for Family Pairing now allow parents to block specific accounts from their teen’s account, preventing interactions and content visibility. Parents will receive notifications when their teen uploads public content, providing insight without disrupting creativity.
“Creator Care Mode” filters offensive comments automatically, while a new comment tool for TikTok Live allows creators to block specific words entirely. “Content Check Lite” enables users to ensure their content meets criteria for the For You feed before posting.
Creators now have access to a professional inbox experience called the “Creator Inbox,” featuring folders for unread and starred messages. Additionally, Creator Chat Room allows direct interaction with eligible followers, with chats capped at 300 people.
The platform also introduced “Well-being Missions,” offering quizzes and interactive flash cards to promote balanced digital habits. Users can earn badges upon completion and access tools like breathing exercises and calming audio tracks for recharging.
