Microsoft Bing has just announced the launch of Bing Video Creator, a new feature in its app that allows users to generate videos from text prompts using OpenAI’s Sora model. This collaboration with OpenAI marks the first time that Sora’s video generation will be available for free, as it was previously restricted to paying customers only.
Currently, Bing Video Creator is not accessible on desktops, and video generation can take hours, even in the “fast” mode that is meant to only take a few minutes. Users can create up to 10 video clips for free as long as they are logged into a Microsoft account. After that, they will need to pay 100 Microsoft Rewards points per video, which can be earned through Bing searches or purchases at the Microsoft Store.
Users can queue up to three 5-second video generations at a time, with videos currently only available in a vertical 9:16 aspect ratio. However, horizontal 9:16 uploads will be available soon, catering to users who want to share their AI creations on platforms like TikTok or Instagram.
