Apple officially opened applications today for its second Impact Accelerator program, a three-month virtual initiative designed to advance environmental equality by supporting minority-owned businesses across the United States. The program provides selected business leaders with direct access to Apple’s expert mentors and an influential alumni community to foster growth in the green technology sector.
Advancing the Racial Equity and Justice Initiative
Launched in 2020, the program operates as a core component of Apple’s Racial Equity and Justice Initiative. This strategic framework focuses on partnering with minority-owned enterprises to address climate change impacts while simultaneously reinventing traditional business models for a more inclusive economy.
The Impact Accelerator seeks to dismantle systemic obstacles within the environmental industry. By ensuring Apple’s investments reach impacted communities, the program bridges the gap between environmental sustainability and social justice, empowering those most affected by climate change to lead the transition.

The curriculum offers specialized coaching and training designed to equip businesses with the necessary tools to become successful Apple suppliers. This professional development ensures that diverse companies can meet the rigorous standards required for large-scale corporate partnerships.

Lisa Jackson, Apple’s vice president of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives, emphasized the necessity of diverse leadership in the global green transition. “We cannot build a greener economy without building a more just one, where communities most impacted by environmental harms lead us toward solutions,” Jackson stated.
According to Jackson, the Impact Accelerator models the collaborative approach required to accelerate progress toward a carbon-neutral future by bringing bold and innovative businesses together to solve complex environmental challenges.
Eligibility and Application Deadlines
