Uber has launched its Uber for Teens service in India, allowing parents to set up accounts for teenagers aged 13-17 to request trips using their own devices. The service is currently available in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, and Mumbai, with plans to expand to 35 cities. Additional features include live trip tracking and opt-in audio recording. Uber will conduct extra background checks on drivers to ensure safety. The move comes as Uber aims to compete with local rivals like Ola, Rapido, Namma Yatri, and BluSmart in the Indian market.
